We're mixing things up a bit this fall and have a couple different times and kinds of gatherings in October. All the details are below. A little backstory on the idea of collective gatherings.
October 4-6 - Regional District Conference aka Church Business Meeting
(This is just FYI, Liz will attend on behalf of WW. Unless you love church meetings and want to join me? HA!)
Sunday, October 13 - Nature + Spirituality 4pm Squaxin Park, Shelter # 2
Encountering the Holy in creation. Gathering outdoors for reflection, contemplation, and conversation. We’ll be under a covered picnic shelter but dress for the weather.
Thursday, October 17 - Sacred Story: Poetry as Sacred Text, 7:30 pm United Churches Library, Call Us What We Carry by Amanda Gorman
Lectio-divina, a monastic practice of spiritual reading. Read as much or as little of the book as you like, share your favorites and we’ll read, meditate, pray, contemplate together. Email for a copy of the book.
Tuesday, October 22 - Interfaith Blessing of the Ballots, 5:30 pm Location TBD
Concerned Clergy of Olympia
Sunday, October 27 - Ex Nihilo: Creating from Chaos (All-ages), 2 pm
United Churches Chapel (Notice the different time!)
Art. Story. Chaos. Ex nihilio is latin for “out of nothing,” and is the belief that God created the world from the nothingness of the cosmos. We’ll create art and story together, embracing the chaos that is. (aka Wild Kids)
Sunday, November 3 - Wild Dinner Potluck & Sunday Gathering: Dia de los Muertos, 4 pm United Churches Chapel
Bring a memento of a beloved who has died for memorial and a dish to share. We’ll have plates, silverware, etc. and drinks.
